CORTISONE INJECTION

What is a Cortisone injection?

Cortisone is a corticosteroid hormone. It decreases your body's natural defensive response and reduces symptoms such as swelling and allergic-type reactions. When we talk about Musculoskeletal problems, cortisone injection is used for conditions such as joint pain & arthritis. it is injected directly into the joint space which can reduce pain by reducing inflammation and swelling. It can take around a week for a cortisone injection to take effect, but once it does, it can relieve your symptoms for at least a few weeks to months. Most of the time it is used for knee and shoulder pain but is used in other joints as well. Results vary person to person. If you want more information about cortisone injection and want to know if you are a candidate to receive this injection book an evaluation with us by filling out the form below or give us a call.

If you have knee pain due to arthritis and other treatments didn't work for you, ask us about Viscosupplementation treatment, when hyaluronic acid gel is injected in the knee joint. It is similar to a lubricant that occurs naturally in the

PRP INJECTION - of the Joints, Face, Hair, Breast & morning

The body's natural reaction to an injury is to send platelet from blood to the damaged tissue to start a process of growth factors which are released at the site of injury to promote healing. PRP is a process that works with the same concept.

Your blood is drawn and then centrifuged to produce PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma).  PRP treatments use a patient's own concentrated platelets and growth factors to stimulate and improve the body’s healing response to treat acute injury, inflammation as well as discoloration and signs of aging.   We offer PRP injection for Joints, Tendons, Skin, Hair, Breast and more.

Trigger Point Injection - For Neck & Back

A Trigger Point Injection can help with myofascial pain, especially in your neck & back. Trigger points are painful “knots” in your muscles that can be very sensitive to touch & pressure and can be very painful. They may form after acute trauma or by repetitive micro-trauma, leading to stress on muscle fibers. It causes the muscle fibers to be stuck in a contracted state. Sometimes you can feel these knots when you rub your muscle.

Trigger point injections commonly involve injections of local anesthetic with or without corticosteroid, or without any injection substance (dry needling). During a trigger point injection procedure, a small needle is inserted into a trigger point & injects local anesthetic with or without anti-inflammatory medicine or without any injection substance (dry needling).

Injections to trigger points can relieve pain & increase mobility for people with chronic muscle pain, but sometimes some people find that results take several days or weeks to appear. Results vary person to person. Most of the time patients are happy with the results.

Trigger point injections are a minor medical procedure that can be repeated as needed to maintain pain relief. If you think you need a trigger point injection for your neck, back or elsewhere, book your appointment for evaluation by filling out the form below or give us a call and we will book your appointment over the phone.
